The redevelopment of Juniper House will deliver 91 new homes on the site, 41 of which will be classed as affordable housing. There will be 23 homes for social rent for people on the local housing register, including the larger 3- and 4- bed homes to help local families in need of affordable housing. Another 18 will be shared ownership homes designed to help local people afford a first home. The remainder of the apartments will be for private sale.
The plans include 950 square metres of commercial space on the ground floor along Hoe Street. Waltham Forest Council is open to creative proposals about the nature of the commercial premises, and will engage with suitable businesses. A non-traditional approach to this space may be appropriate in the scheme, including the creation of flexible commercial/retail space or workspaces.
The redevelopment will provide a 53-place nursery for children aged 0-5 years on the site. This will include outdoor play space.
